Oct 29 Clothing Drive

It’s Time To Clean Closets!
We are having a clothing drive!

Your closet cleaning can help
Middletown High School South’s Music Department

Check out your closets, attic, basement and storage bins – do you have unwanted clean, usable and wearable clothing, shoes, accessories (handbags, scarves, ties, hats) for men, women or children?  How about soft household items like bedding, curtains, tablecloths or towels?  Got toys (hard) or stuffed animals that have been outgrown?  (Hard toys should fit a box 24” by 24”, and please – no VCR tapes, CDs or books)

All these items are in desperate need in Africa, Central and South America, India, Poland and Haiti!  Your items will be greatly appreciated!

How will the students benefit?  A & E Clothing Corporation, who sends containers of collected clothing and items to these countries, will pay 15 cents per pound to student organizations that make the collections.  Our goal is to raise $1,000 – won’t  you help us?

The students of the Middletown South Music Department have promoted school spirit by representing High School South in many statewide music competitions, including The Yamaha Cup Competition at Giants Stadium.  They have also competed in Spring competitions in Baltimore, Toronto and Virginia.  They have performed at field shows as well as parades in Middletown, and even The St Patrick’s Day parade in New York City.

How do the students do this?
With long practice sessions, fund raising,
more long practice sessions, and lots more fundraising.

We will be collecting these items, tied in plastic bags
(you can use garbage bags or kitchen bags)
at
Middletown HS South’s Band Room
on

Saturday, October 29 between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM

PLEASE DO NOT BRING CLOTHING BEFORE THE ABOVE DATE!!
